Here’s a big welcome to Summer! Hoping all of you enjoyed your Memorial Day Weekend! (Here in Iowa, it rained, and rained, and rained some more.) I always think that Memorial Day ushers in the best time of the year!
Here at Block Party Studios, we are starting off our summer with the All Iowa Shop Hop, June 1st through 20th. Stop by our shop on your way around the great state of Iowa. We’ll have your 6” Kona square, plus a 6” hand-printed square of our own fabric ready for you to pick up, plus lots of fat quarters, kits and fabric. If you haven’t pre-ordered you Iowa fabric yet, we still have some available. We had so much fun meeting all of you last year, and look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new!
June 2nd is National Cancer Survivor Day—why not celebrate it by making a “What Cancer Cannot Do?” quilt for yourself or someone you know who has survived cancer or is going through cancer treatments now. We have a free pattern that goes with this panel. Click here for the free patterns page. Be sure to enter your e-mail address before you summit your pattern selection.
June 16th is Father’s Day! We have a new apron with our “She Quilts, I Cook” picture on it. It would make a great gift for Dad to use out there at the grill! Available in stone with black ink or black with white ink. And don’t forget our “She Quilts - I Cook” panel. The panel is printed on natural fabric, and has a pattern available, also.
Our newest panel is “To Have and To Hold”. June is the month of weddings, but you can use this any time of the year to honor those who are starting their lives together. We will have a pattern coming soon, so keep an eye out for that.
It’s also time to start thinking about your July 4th celebrations! “Nothing Can Break the Threads That Bind” T-shirt will show both your American Spirit and your love of quilting. This t-shirt was first printed after Sept. 11th, but we think it is still relevant.
